Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Paste (the "Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Paste, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

Description of Service

Paste is an image sharing platform that allows users to upload, store, and share images via short links. The Service includes features such as image processing, versioning, and a dashboard for managing uploads.

Account Registration

To use Paste, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
  • Create an account using Google OAuth
  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Upload illegal, harmful, or dangerous content
  • Upload content that violates intellectual property rights
  • Upload content that is defamatory, harassing, or discriminatory
  • Upload spam, malware, or malicious code
  • Upload content that violates others' privacy
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
  • Use automated tools to abuse the Service
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity

Content Ownership and License

You retain ownership of the images you upload. By uploading content to Paste, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to:

  • Store and process your images
  • Generate and serve optimized versions of your images
  • Display your images to users who access the short links
  • Delete your images according to our retention policies

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and share the content you submit.

Image Expiry and Deletion

Images uploaded to Paste have automatic expiry dates based on your subscription tier:

  • Free tier: Images expire after 7 days (configurable up to 30 days)
  • Pro tier: Images expire after 30 days (configurable up to 365 days)

Expired images are automatically deleted and cannot be recovered. When you manually delete an image, it's moved to trash and permanently deleted after 30 days.

Subscription Tiers

Paste offers two subscription tiers:

Free Tier

  • 10 uploads per month
  • 5GB total storage
  • 10MB max file size
  • 7-day default expiry
  • Watermarked images

Pro Tier

  • Unlimited uploads
  • Unlimited storage
  • 50MB max file size
  • 30-day default expiry
  • No watermarks

We reserve the right to modify subscription tiers, features, and pricing with reasonable notice.

Content Moderation

We reserve the right to:

  • Review, remove, or restrict access to any content
  • Ban or freeze user accounts that violate these Terms
  • Report illegal content to law enforcement
  • Respond to abuse reports and takedown requests

We are not obligated to monitor all content but may do so at our discretion.

Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Specific uptime percentages
  • Data loss prevention beyond our standard backups
  • Compatibility with all devices or browsers

We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or emergencies without prior notice.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Paste is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • We are not liable for data loss or corruption
  • We are not liable for third-party content or links
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Paste, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Content you upload or share

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Illegal or harmful activity
  • Abuse of the Service
  • Request from law enforcement

Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease, and your images may be deleted according to our retention policies.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms on this page
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Sending email notifications (for Pro users)

Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
